Wyoming man to receive Local Jefferson Award in the nation's capital

WASHINGTON (GrayDC) A local Wyoming radio personality is being recognized in the nation’s capital this week for the work he does to help others. He was nominated by local media for the honor.

Donovan Short will be at the Mayflower Hotel on Tuesday where he will receive the Local Jefferson award for community service. A radio personality for the past three decades, Short has participated in many charity events.

He is the host of the Stuff the Van Toy drive and started the Wyoming Food for Thought project.

He said radio allows him to encourage people to make a difference within their communities.

Short will be honored at an awards breakfast and will deliver a speech.
