WASHINGTON (Gray DC) -- WASHINGTON BUREAU CHIEF JACQUELINE POLICASTRO: Mr. Vice President, do you believe Russia meddled in the US elecitoin?
VICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE:
Well I think it's very clear that Russia meddled in the elections in this country in 2016. And, while we believe it had no impact on the outcome of the election, it reflects the kind of behavior that's animated the actions of this administration from very early on.
President Trump has made it clear, that agencies across this administration have to take decisive action to ensure that it never happens again. The president spoke about that issue when he met with President Putin earlier this week, and made it clear the United States would not tolerate that action in the future.
But also, I think it also informed the fact that the United States has taken such strong action. We've really met Russian aggression with American strength over the last 18 months, whether it be strengthening NATO, rebuilding our military, standing strong with Ukraine, the military action that we've taken against the regime in Syria that is supported by Russia, I think all reflect that this President is always interested in pursuing peace. But, it will always be peace through strength.
