Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) took part in a panel discussion at the liberal-leaning Center for American Progress Ideas conference. The organization tapped into Spanberger’s expertise as a former CIA officer.
The conversation largely centered around national security as it pertains to U.S. relations with China and Iran. As tensions grow and threats continue between the U.S. and the Iranian regime, Spanberger says she wants Congress to be involved every step of the way.
"Through our efforts on the legislative side we can actually in a longer range view positively impact our national security into the future," said Spanberger.
Alongside Spanberger on the national security panel were Obama National Security Adviser Susan Rice and Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI).
