WASHINGTON (Gray DC) -- The Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) will present the South Carolina Aquarium - located in Charleston - with the prestigious National Medal of Museum and Library Service in Washington, DC.

The Aquarium will be recognized at a reception in the nation's capital Wednesday night with this honor. It is one of ten organizations selected for making “significant and exceptional contributions to their communities” and “addressing unique issues and challenges confronting communities today through their programs and services."
