Alan and Sharon Podrid from Marietta and David and Dianne Fowler from Sharpsburg docked in Florida Monday.

They were stuck on a cruise ship for a month after the coronavirus pandemic hit the United States.

They managed to get off the boat, but new Federal guidelines now prohibit cruise ship passengers from taking commercial flights – still leaving the couples far from home.

Loeffler said Governor Brian Kemp reached out to her asking for help, so her and her husband sent their private jet to go pick up the couples.

“These Georgians are amazing Americans. We were there to welcome them last night when the plane landed. They are back home reunited with loved ones, self-quarantining," Loeffler said.

She said the pilots who flew the Georgians home are also in self-quarantine now.
