Sen. Grassley: all relevant information will be on table to vet Judge Kavanaugh

WASHINGTON (Gray DC) -- Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) says he's not ready to commit to voting for President Donald Trump's Supreme Court pick.

"I'm very much leaning 'yes'," he said, "I don't expect there's going to be anything negative [that comes out] that would cause me to change my mind, but that's why we have a hearing."

The powerful chairman of the Judiciary Committee said he hopes to hold the confirmation hearing for Judge Brett Kavanaugh's fitness in September.

Grassley said the Senate may have more information with which to judge Judge Kavanaugh than any previous nominee.

Democrats are calling for the release of documents from Kavanaugh's time in the President George W. Bush administration. Grassley pledged that, "we're going to give them all relevant information that they need."
