After receiving a presidential endorsement, former Auburn football head coach Tommy Tuberville beat out former Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions in the Alabama primary runoff Tuesday. He will go up against Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL) as they race toward November.

The incumbent Jones will have to compete with the former head coach of the Auburn University football team, and also President Donald Trump who will be at the top of the ticket in November. President Trump endorsed Tuberville after his relationship frayed with his former Attorney General Sessions.

Jones says he will focus on his bipartisan record in Congress and his efforts navigating the pandemic that continues to wreak havoc across the country, including in Alabama.
