With the 2020 election right around the corner, a hot topic this year is election security.
Over the 4 day conference, the bipartisan leaders will discuss poll accessibility, how to protect against ransomware attacks, ways to counter foreign interference and fraud detection.
Election aside, several members are also working to promote federal legislation, such as the “Empowering States to Protect Seniors from Bad Actors Act” that would give states more power to protect seniors from financial exploitation.
The secretaries will also hear from experts and researchers. They’ll even have the chance to get some social media tips from representatives of Facebook, Google and Twitter.
The conference begins Thursday and will last through the weekend.
