Sewell previews Super Tuesday in Alabama

WASHINGTON (Gray DC) -- Rep. Terri Sewell (D-AL) is predicting a big win for Vice President Joe Biden on Super Tuesday. The congresswoman endorsed Biden in January, another big supporter from the Congressional Black Caucus. Biden picked up perhaps the most influential backing this week from Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC) ahead of the first in the south primary in South Carolina Saturday.

Sewell projects Super Tuesday will be a big winning day for Biden, especially in her state because she thinks he can relate to the struggles of people in her district. Alabama, where African Americans are expected to cast a majority of primary ballots, has 52 Democratic pledged delegates at stake, part of the 1,357 up for grabs on Super Tuesday.

Sewell says if Biden is not successful in South Carolina, Super Tuesday states, or the following primaries and has to drop out, she will support whoever comes out of the Democratic field.
