WASHINGTON (Gray DC) -- Rep. Martha Roby (R-AL) announced Friday that she will not seek a 6th term to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Roby was first elected in 2010 and is serving her fifth term for Alabama's 2nd Congressional District. Spokespeople for the congresswoman would not comment beyond referring us to her tweets.

Some of her colleagues in the Alabama delegation have been singing her praises. Senators Richard Shelby (R-AL) and Doug Jones (D-AL) both sent tweets about her decision.
