WASHINGTON (GrayDC) "It's ridiculous," said Cortez Masto on the high cost of prescription drugs.
Sen. Cortez Masto (D-NV) joined other lawmakers in the Senate Finance Committee Hearing to work on finding a way to reduce the cost of prescription drugs.
This is the third of four meetings on the subject--this time, the drug manufacturers were in attendance. The companies include Merck, Sanofi, AbbVie, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. The pharmaceutical companies suggested a number of items, including adding lower cost generics.
Sen. Cortez Masto wanted to let local Nevadans know she will continue to fight to lower costs for the consumer. She says it is about keeping the companies accountable and increasing transparency.
"It's about everybody, including the manufacturers, come to the table, and if they're not going to come to the table, then we are going to pass legislation that forces those drug prices down."
The Senator says there is no word yet on a date for the last hearing in the series focusing on drug prices.
