The 77 local veterans are seeing memorials dedicated to those who served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

The honor flight’s coordinator, Scott Knauf, said, “A lot of them did not get a thank you when they came back from their service, and so this is our way of saying thank you for what they did.”

Vietnam veteran John Evans said of the flight, “Very humbling seeing all this. I’m very moved.”

The honor flight is scheduled to return to Escanaba, MI on Wednesday evening.
