WASHINGTON (Gray DC) -- A group of newly-elected governors were at the White House Thursday meeting with President Donald Trump and his cabinet. Governor Mike Dunleavy (R-AK) was part of the group sharing priorities and areas he hopes to work with the administration.
President Donald Trump welcomed 13 governors-elect from states and territories. Cabinet members and advisors joined the conversation where the group was meant to discuss workforce development, the opioid crisis, infrastructure and other priorities at the state level. Dunleavy brought one of his most relevant concerns to the table.
“I want to thank you for your words of encouragement and assistance with our most recent earthquake,” said Dunleavy.
“You know it’s worked out quite well hasn’t it?” President Trump responded.
Governor Dunleavy has additional meetings in Washington this week, one of those was with Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke.
