DETROIT (Gray DC) -- Gretchen Whitmer is Michigan's Democratic gubernatorial nominee.
Tuesday evening she spoke to a crowd at Detroit's Motor City Casino.
Whitmer thanked her Democratic primary opponents Abdul El-Sayed and Shri Thanedar.
Whitmer said, “I extend a hand to them, we have already talked tonight, there is a place for you as we move forward.”
She also made a pitch to their supporters, she said, “And of course to the thousands of people who were their supporters, this is a big tent, join us come on inside.”
On the Republican side Michigan Attorney General won his primary. Whitmer told her supporters, “We got a lot of work to do, we need to throw Bill Schuette a big retirement party come November 6th.”
