Tipton said he will be watching the candidates debate this week, calling it a “scramble to socialism”.

The Congressman said he believes former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper is making comments that are not sitting well with the Democratic base.

“When he talked about capitalism as a path to prosperity, did not go well with the group he was talking in front of,” he said.

This is the first time the Presidential hopefuls will square off in the crowded field of Democratic candidates. Ten candidates will take center stage on June 26, and the line-up includes Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren and former Congressman Beto O’Rourke. The second night will feature the other ten candidates, including front-runner and former Vice President Joe Biden, and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

The debates will be held in Miami, Florida on Wednesday and Thursday.
