SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- President Trump is making a return trip to Springfield.
The president will hold a rally Friday, September 21 at 6:30 p.m. at JQH Arena on the campus of Missouri State University. Doors for the rally open at 4 p.m. The rally is a ticketed event.
President Trump has been outspoken in Missouri's U.S. Senate race. Republican Josh Hawley is running to unseat two-term Senator Claire McCaskill. The president canceled a rally in Cape Girardeau this week because of Hurricane Florence.
Trump appeared in Springfield in August of 2017 to discuss tax reform.

Missouri State University released a statement on Facebook about the visit:
"A campaign rally for U.S. Senate candidate Josh Hawley will be held on Sept. 21 at JQH Arena. President Donald Trump is expected to appear.
The university recognizes that this will offend some and delight others. University policy and our legal obligations under the First Amendment say we cannot make decisions on who can rent facilities based on personal beliefs.
As a community, let’s show the rest of the country how Missouri State and Springfield respectfully participate in the political process, whether you’re there to rally for candidates or peacefully protest."
