Rep. Elise Stefanik endorses Republican women running in House races

WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, a top ranking House Republican, is endorsing 10 women for 2022 congressional races. Stefanik held a press conference in Washington, D.C. on Monday where she said women are the key to Republicans regaining control of the House.

The endorsements come through E-PAC, a political action committee started by Stefanik with the goal of electing more Republican women to Congress.

Stefanik said, “I was proud that when I announced this initiative, Kevin McCarthy and Steve Scalise, the number one and two in among House Republicans, fully embraced this. And they know this is going to be part of our of how we win, and why we win the majority this November.”

Stefanik’s latest endorsements include:

  • Tanya Contreras Wheeless is running for a seat held by Congressman Greg Stanton (D-Ariz.-04).
  • Anna Paulina Luna is running for a seat currently held by Congressman Charlie Crist (D-Fla.-13). Crist is running for governor.
  • Erin Houchin is running for a seat currently held by retiring Congressman Trey Hollingsworth (R-Ind.-09).
  • Annie Black is running for a seat currently held by Congressman Steven Horsford (D-Nev.-04).
  • Liz Joy is running for a seat held by Congressman Paul Tonko (D-N.Y.-20).
  • Madison Gesiotto Gilbert is running for a seat currently held by Congressman Tim Ryan (D-Ohio-13). Ryan is running for the Senate.
  • Lori Chavez-DeRemer is running for a seat held by Congressman Kurt Schrader (D-Ore.-05).
  • Morgan Ortagus is running for a seat held by retiring Congressman Jim Cooper (D-Tenn.-05).
  • Cassy Garcia is running for a seat held by Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-Texas-28).
  • Mayra Flores is running for a seat held by Congressman Filemon Vela (D-Texas-34).
