WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - After serving Arizonans for five terms in Congress, Arizona Democratic Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick (D-AZ) announced she will not be on the ballot in 2022.

“Throughout my time in public service, I have learned that the highs are high, the lows are known, and the magic lives in the people you meet,” she said in the announcement on her campaign website.

Kirkpatrick, who represents southern Arizonans, also said she is proud to have helped pass the Affordable Care Act and Indian Veterans Housing Opportunity Act, and improve water rights for tribes in her state.

Kirkpatrick will finish out her fifth term through January 2023.
