Kellie joined the Washington Bureau in May 2015.
She started as a general assignment reporter at WENY News in Elmira, New York. In less than a year she was promoted to morning anchor/ producer/ reporter for their broadcast ‘Good Morning Twin Tiers’. During that time their viewership doubled. Kellie won an award for her work at WENY. She received a New York Associated Press Award for Best Interview in May 2014.
Kellie grew up in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Kellie has a passion for helping people. Some of her favorite memories from the Twin Tiers were when she was able to leave the newsroom and get out in the community. She always loved meeting new people and hoped to make a difference. She often volunteered with the Food Bank or with homeless shelters. She did stories on them to draw attention to local issues.
Now, she’s ready to take on our nation’s Capitol, holding on to that mission of helping those in the communities she serves. She hopes to cover stories that matter to you and ask the questions you want to know.
Kellie loves social media and encourages you to connect with her on Facebook (Kellie Meyer) or follow her on Twitter (@KellieMeyerNews). Feel free to share story ideas, questions you want to ask your federal, state and local representatives, or just to say hello!
